Tarot Card Meanings

Tarot is one of man’s techniques of attempting to put order and rhythm into what appears to be our chaotic and unpredictable lives. As a species, we have a desire for safety and order which is why our minds are impelled to seek patterns in what is perceived as chaos; images seen in clouds or undergrowth are examples. The images we are presented with are generally what we need to see. In divination, we are challenged to see the reasons why we are where we are and what we need to do to move forward. The answers are not coming from without, they are coming from within. Images on tarot cards are triggers that force us to override what we don’t want to see so that we can confront what we already know but have chosen to avoid wanting to admit. This is why it is so important for individuals to seek their own interpretation of tarot card images rather than relying on being spoon fed out of books. The reader is on a different life journey than the authors of these books. A brief description, ideally only a keyword in conjunction with the corresponding card image, which functions as a switch to turn on the subconscious contents of the mind, is the only requirement. The infinite universe appears chaotic to us because we only see a small part of its sequence; if we could only see the big picture then we would understand it is not chaotic but follows an ordered flow of causes and effects. An honestly entered into tarot reading will reveal to us this large picture and illustrate our position within it. Remember, answers are within. Trust yourself and listen to your inner voice.
