Kepheri also known as The at Night is the ancient Egyptian God who symbolises “coming into being”.

Other spellings include Kheper, Khepera, Chepri and Khephir.

Khepri would plunge the sun into the underworld each night. Every morning, he would resurrect the sun, bringing it to the eastern horizon to travel across the sky.

The word “kheper” means “to emerge” or “to come into being”.

The painting is featured as the disc art on the Comets Ov Cupid CD Western Lands, as the cover art for the book Howling at the Sky and as the card backs of Tarot of the Morning Star deck.

Roger Williamson visual  artist, resides and creates in Minneapolis Minnesota.

Born in Loughborough, England, in 1947 and raised in Coventry, he was captivated early on by the French Symbolist painters of the late nineteenth century. These artistic influences, combined with his mystical upbringing and practical experiences in mythology and dream control, shape the core of his paintings and writings.

Williamson employs diverse media, whether painting or writing, to develop techniques that translate the sensual experience of dreaming into the waking world’s language. His goal is to reintroduce mystery and ambiguity into human existence, encouraging audiences to lead “effulgent and invigorating lives, revitalized from the secretions of our subconscious.”

Roger Williamson is the creator of Tarot of the Morning Star deck and the author of The Sun at Night.
