Princess Pentacles, Princess Earth

Princess Pentacles

Earth of Earth. This is symbolized by the card, as depicted in the Tarot of the Morning Star deck, as the princess holding a fox. When a fox has gone to ground, retreated to its lair, the phenomenon is referred to as the animal having gone to earth. Normally, the fox will do this to escape danger. Being the last in a sequence, Princess Earth is symbolic of a door to another world, another dimension, a new, and as yet unrevealed cycle of events.  As the final court card, she is the beginning of a new cycle of the zodiac, exhibiting the freshness of spring which we experience in the physical world.

Femme Fatale Gone to Earth.Gone to earth is to enter our inner being, where we become empowered through contact with our ancestral roots, nourished by the avatar of our power animal. It is, the healing place. Conversely, to retreat from what we see as the dangers of the world into a secret lair. To go away to a place where people will not be able to find you . The painting depicts woman embracing her vulpine spirit. Image is depicted as Princess of Earth in my Tarot of the Morning Star tarot deck.

Princess of Earth, Princess of Pentacles representing Earth of Earth. Taken from Tarot of the Morning Star deck.Tarot Princess Earth Pentacles is the sixteenth and final tarot Court Card and as such represents a hidden spirit or Goddess. She is the culmination and synthesis of the previous 15 Court Cards.

This is symbolized by the card, as depicted in the Tarot of the Morning Star deck, as the princess holding a fox. When a fox has gone to ground, and retreated to its lair, the phenomenon is referred to as the animal having gone to earth. Normally, the fox will do this to escape danger.

Being the last in a sequence, Princess Earth is symbolic of a door to another world, another dimension, a new, and as yet unrevealed cycle of events.  As the final court card, she is the beginning of a new cycle of the zodiacal wheel, exhibiting the freshness of spring that we experience in the physical world.

As the personality type behind the first quarter of the zodiac, Princess Earth exhibits a synthesis of Aries/Emperor, Taurus/Hierophant and Gemini/Lovers: The 2, 3 and 4 of fire, the 5, 6 and 7 of earth and the 8, 9 and 10 of air. She is the oracular personality that can answer the questions raised by the appearance of these minor arcana cards.

In the event she is unable to resolve questions raised by these minor arcana cards naturally evoked archetypal forces of the major arcana cards Emperor, Hierophant, and Lovers will appear to resolve the issue. In particular, the Hierophant corresponds to Taurus, an earth sign. These major arcana cards are what Julian Jaynes refers to in his The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind as hallucinated ancestral voices. For us, being far removed from the days of hearing ancestral voices, I argue that these vocalizations are now received as subjective ideas. We might consider these ideas to be our own creations, although it is quite possible they come from a place that is not of ourselves or what we might identify as ourselves.

As the throne of the Ace of Earth, Princess Earth is our first cognizant awareness of the emergence of the element when it interacts with our biological machine.

The tarot oracle is not predicting the future; it is projecting possibilities from learned phenomena, both conscious and unconscious, through past experiences enabling us to create our futures from a collage of expectations..

To sum up, the major arcana images of the tarot can be considered materializations of what were once oracular instructions voiced by invisible or hallucinated fields of energy.
